A well-designed place doesn’t just look good; it feels good, sounds good, and smells good. In fact, multi-sensory places attract visitors, make them happy, and instill in them a sense of ownership and care for the place. Yet designers often prioritize vision over the other senses. To get out of the habit of privileging vision, to understand the importance of multi-sensory design and to learn how to experience the city non-visually, Jonathan Silver will be leading blindfolded walking tours of Toronto.
Each walk will consist of two participants and Jonathan. He will lead these participants at the same time on a blindfolded walk (20 mins). Then, participants will take off the blindfold and will retrace their steps (10 mins).
