I L U is a place – A vernacular layout for the plans of motel architecture.

And a shorthand in which to express affection.

Inspired by the romanticized version of the motel in popular culture, and influenced by her childhood growing up in Niagara Falls, designer/maker Natalie Sirianni’s ‘I L U Motel’ revisits furniture and lighting forms through the exaggerated lens of nostalgia.

Natalie Sirianni is based in Toronto. She recently graduated from Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Craft and Design program with a studio focus in Furniture and is currently expanding her practice at Harbourfront Centre’s Artist-in-Residence program (Design).
