Time Moving – Workshop

‘Time Moving’, by Kate Sellen at OCAD University, invites members of the public to explore the concept of time and temporal change at end of life by different stakeholders in death in a workshop format. Awareness and management of time at end of life is an integral aspect of decision making and communication at end of life. The experience of time can change as temporal awareness shifts, priorities change, capacity and physical constraints arise. ‘Time Moving’ integrates an exploration of time perception and representation with individual and collective responses developing over the duration of the festival as members of the public express their own ideas of time and temporal perception. The work invites members of the public to participate in a series of drop-in workshops to share perceptions and imaginings of the experience of time at end of life using everyday materials, posing questions about disorientation/orientation to time horizons, perceptions of time as we move towards death, while building curiosity about decision making towards end of life.

The ‘Death and Dying’ series explores the theme of end of life through the lens of design and art. Through participatory and observational experiences, the Series invites you to think about your relationship with death and dying as an individual, a member of a family and social network and as a human being in society. The ‘Death and Dying’ series is a collaboration between OCAD University’s Design for Health graduate program and TABOO Health.
