October Film Festivals in Toronto

Music City North Festival at The Hideout
Music City North presents SOTC Fall 2018 edition at the Hideout from October 10-14, 2018. Female fronted bands will be playing and slaying all week at this indie music fest!

The Bentway Presents: Waterlicht
Acclaimed Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde will be exhibiting his large-scale light installation that “illustrates the universal power and poetry of water” at the Bentway from October 12 -14, 2018.
“Waterlicht is a dream landscape created through the imaginative use of LEDs, special software, and lenses. Larger-than-life, cascading waves of blue light will soar underneath the Gardiner Expressway, simulating a virtual flood and calling attention to rising water levels along Toronto’s shoreline.”

Through Lines at Koffler Centre for the Arts
A thought-provoking exhibition for the mind and soul, “…the exhibition highlights the spaces of inquiry revealed through acts of obstruction.” “Through lines brings together the works of seven artists that challenge notions of redaction, tackling its typical devices of shredding, blacking out, editing and covering up. Each project featured in this exhibition engages a restorative gesture that speaks to the ways in which history and memory are conceptualized within a contemporary context.”

What To Do Outside Toronto!
Purple Sea Monster at Philadelphia’s Navy Yard
‘Sea Monster HERE’ showcases a giant inflatable purple sea monster that appears to have taken over the Navy Yard building in Philidelphia. “The massive work is the largest inflatable sculpture ever created by UK-based artists Filthy Luker (previously) and Pedro Estrellas. It was produced in partnership with Group X, an anonymous collective of local artists and curators, and the Navy Yard which extends along the Delaware River.”
