Teaming up with his longtime friend, architect Jonathan Mandeville of Passage Studio, hollis+morris Founder and Creative Director Mischa Couvrette embarked on a journey to transform a neglected 2600 sq. ft. property in Toronto’s west end Swansea neighborhood nestled on the banks of the Humber River.
Recognizing the untapped potential of this beautiful piece of city real estate, the duo started from scratch to build an extraordinary family home in the middle of Toronto.
The collaborative project seamlessly integrates Mischa’s distinct design ethos into the 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom house, with hollis+morris pieces taking center stage alongside carefully curated elements, including artwork from Alison Milne Gallery, hardware from Baccman Berglund, and stone from Marble Trend. Exclusive additions from hollis+morris’ latest Spring/Summer 2024 collection, such as the Oyster Sconce and Berm Sconce, are featured throughout. Additionally, while curating the home, Mischa identified a gap in the market for upholstered furniture and was inspired to create hollis+morris’ debut upholstered line, The Riverside Collection, named after the street on which the home is located.
The Riverside Collection was thoughtfully designed to complement the serene urban sanctuary. Pieces such as the Riverside Sofa, Shoal Lounge Chair, Upholstered Crest Dining Chair, Ripple Bed, and the Levee Coffee Table and Side Table seamlessly enhance the space, marrying comfort with modern design.
