Éclos by Cosentino is the next generation of mineral surfaces featuring a layered 3-D body integrated design and superior heat resistance. Its production combines minerals and recycled materials with a low-crystalline silica composition, through an advanced process of robotic engineering and integrated decorative techniques.
DesignTO and Cosentino invite Canadian designers (living here or abroad) to submit to this open call for submissions. The selected submissions will form the 2026 Éclos Capsule Collection.
About Cosentino
The Cosentino Group is a global, family-owned Spanish company that produces and distributes innovative and sustainable surfaces for architecture and design.
Cosentino has a history of working with notable architects and designers, such as British designer Tom Dixon for Milan Design Week 2023, French architect Gilles Reibell’s No Waste furniture collection, Argentinian multidisciplinary designer Daniel Germani’s Dekton Industrial collection, and Singaporean Studio Juju’s OO collection of five objects. A past Capsule Collection launched in Dubai featured a limited-edition furniture and home accessories series crafted by 5 pioneering practitioners: Nadine Kanso, Omar Nakkash, Rabah Saeid, Omar Al Gurg, and Thomas Trad. The Éclos Capsule Collection builds on that lineage.
Call for submissions
The Éclos Capsule Collection focuses on the creative use and application of Éclos in furniture, objects, or sculpture. It’s an opportunity for artists, designers, and architects to engage with the new mineral surface in an unconventional way, expanding its use beyond surface to three-dimensions.
Designers are encouraged to submit a proposal that will be fabricated in Toronto. We are looking for designs that emphasize the material’s innate qualities while exploring its potential for use in the whole environment we live and work in, blending form (and possibly function) in unexpected ways.
