BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration Event 2026

Join Gensler, along with leading Canadian architects and designers, for a collaborative to assist BIPOC Students in the design industry with the next steps in their careers. In the annual BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration, students will be granted an opportunity to learn about portfolio strategies within the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Technology, Experiential Design (Signage & Wayfinding and Environmental Graphic Design). This will be an opportunity for students to engage in conversations with members of the design community while refining their interview, portfolio building and communication skills. Strategies and advice will be shared by all participants to gear students towards design excellence and enrichment within their future careers.

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM EST Portfolio Reviews (2 students and 2 reviewers per session)

5:30 PM – 6:15 PM EST Presentations and Panel:

• Topic 1: Technical Development + Your Work 

• Topic 2: Interviewing & personal brand

• Topic 3: Finding your Community (panel with Gensler, BAIDA, BEAT and SOSA)

Note: Students can register for the portfolio reviews at 4 PM or attend just the presentations and panel at 5:30 PM (or both). A select number of students will be selected for the reviews at 4 PM but all will be welcome to attend presentations and the panel space permitting. Both will be a unique opportunity to hear directly from industry professionals and expand your network.
