Window installations are viewable 24 hours a day from outdoors.
This installation features handwoven wool floor pillows, roughly 2′ x 3’6″, filled with shredded memory foam shaped like fish. Displayed in a pile, they appear as if dumped off the side of a boat. Above the pillows is hung a fish tapestry woven in the same style.
The pillows, designed by Mark Krebs, are hand-woven on traditional kilim looms by rug weavers in Northern India. The wool yarns developed for the project are a multi-colour blend.
The project is a playful exploration of floor pillows within the limitations of hand-woven kilim techniques. The fish design was chosen for ease of weaving. The result is a fun and somewhat ridiculous body pillow.
