Playing With Fire, Toronto’s only fully electric glassblowing studio, is nestled in the heart of Artscape Wychwood Barns on the second floor of barn 3, unit 252. The historic building was once a streetcar repair facility that has since been converted to a community arts space. Amid the original brick structures, visitors will find historic architectural elements alongside contemporary arts and community organizations. As the home to dozens of artists, a greenhouse, and more, there is so much to see!

When you arrive at the historic Artscape Wychwood Barns building you will be greeted by one of our talented artists and given a brief tour of the century-old, converted streetcar repair facility. From there, guests will gather in the newly assembled gallery space of Playing With Fire. While you browse the collection, light refreshments will be provided. Once all of the guests have arrived, a brief safety talk will begin, followed by an exciting glassblowing demonstration. At the end of the demonstration, interested parties will be invited to create their own blown glass terrarium offered at promotional DesignTO Festival pricing.
