Into the Wildgarden’ is a textile installation by Toronto-based artist Micah Chu (aka mouze dezignz) that celebrates the quiet beauty of the living world woven into the city’s fabric. Using recycled and discarded textiles, scraps are transformed into hand-stitched collages that honour sustainability, renewal, and care.

The series features eight native species—milkweed, trillium, black-eyed susan, wild strawberry, eastern chipmunk, black-capped chickadee, goldfinch, and red-tailed hawk—each crafted as its own suspended piece. Hung at different heights, the works rise from earth to sky, forming a gentle vertical chorus of plants and animals that share Toronto’s landscape. Viewed together, they drift and overlap like a layered ecosystem in motion, alive with colour and texture.

A portion of proceeds from any sold works will be donated to local conservation efforts, extending the work’s gesture of care beyond the gallery walls.
