‘Renaissance’ demonstrates how the traditional craft of stained glass can be reimagined in a contemporary style. Art windows don’t have to be limited to religious icons and traditional frilly flowers.

Artist Laura Pop’s work focuses on how colour, texture, and light can bring a niche uniqueness to a space; like a rug, a window can tie the room together. Laura likes to think of this form as “painting with glass”, and her background in graphic design helps to bring this historic craft into a contemporary space.

In addition to windows, the artist creates pieces that show how stained glass art can be displayed beyond windows; the type of glass used does not necessarily need light to reveal its beauty.

Laura believes we are in the midst of an Arts & Crafts Renaissance. By practicing this historical, hands-on craft in a contemporary style, her work aims to make this timeless art form more accessible and relevant to a modern audience.
