As the owner of bulthaup Toronto for 15 years, Stefan Sybydlo has deeply integrated himself into Toronto’s architecture and design community. He has proficiently demonstrated his passion for architecture and design, and his belief that great design collaborations also lead to meaningful experiences and long-lasting friendships.
Stefan has established his King Street East showroom as not only the source for highly personalized kitchens, but also a node for dialogue and discovery. It’s not uncommon for someone to wander in to say a quick hello, and then fall into debate about the merits of a new building in the city. When he isn’t working with clients, architects and designers to realize dream spaces, Stefan seeks to raise Toronto’s caliber of design in a myriad of ways. For example, from 2006 – 2015 he sponsored the international lecture series at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto. Since 2011, he has supported local artists by presenting their work in the bulthaup Toronto showroom. He is a board member of the King Street East Design District which he co-founded in 2013, a member of the German Chamber of Commerce since 2004, and he is now is proud to be a DesignTO Ambassador.
Stefan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science from the University of Toronto.
