‘Outline’ is a window installation constructed from paper, acrylic and mixed media. The project explores my way of bringing into view the ephemeral quality of the unknown.

“I am deeply interested in how we discover blindspots in our lives or how we are able to learn new ideas. I ask myself this question frequently: how do we come to a new perspective about ourselves, others, or our surroundings? And, by what means can we come to discover something that we did not know was there previously?

Through overlapping and intersecting circles, I try to find an elegant and simple way of illustrating our searching and scattering journeys towards ourselves, others and our place in the world. In ever-widening circles, maybe we can trace the outline of our blindspots, and hone in on what it might reveal to us.” – Lynn Rubens
