DesignTO projectevent online

‘Ask Me Anything’ is a new online program launched by DesignTO, featuring Toronto-based designer Jamie Wolfond as its first guest. Its aim is to create direct access to a designer, and foster learning about design and the design process between guest designers and the public.

Kicking off in January 2021 during DesignTO’s annual festival, Jamie Wolfond (founder of Jamie Wolfond Studio and Good Thing) will hold 30-minute private online meetings with anyone who is interested in speaking with him.

***All meeting times are booked. There is no longer availability.

About Jamie Wolfond Studio:

The Studio opened in 2013, creating products for Wolfond’s consumer brand, Good Thing. In 2018, Wolfond sold Good Thing, allowing him to dedicate himself exclusively to the evolution of the Studio.

Rooted in the belief that the experience of hands-on making is the best approach to designing physical objects, the Studio’s process revolves around iterative physical research. A unique combination of material experiments, paper models and handmade prototypes are behind every object the studio designs. By combining this hands-on process with direct experience working with tradespeople and factories, the studio simultaneously determines what an object will be and how that object will be made. This vibration between problem and solution yields objects that are resolved, unique and inherently suited to scaled production.

Jamie Wolfond Studio has worked with clients in Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2017, Wolfond was awarded Forbes’ Top 30 Under 30 award for Art & Style.

Meetings will be available Tues, Jan 26 & Thurs, Jan 28 from 2-5pm.
