bottē Design Exhibition

exhibition in-person

This event is a celebration of colour in contemporary design and textile art. In this exhibition we will showcase a curated collection of contemporary carpets, textiles, furniture, and tapestry by local artists and designers.

Viewers will also enjoy a great collection of contemporary middle eastern textiles imported from a region often overlooked by art and design lovers. In our modern spaces where carpets and textiles have gradually become a commercial product and are often used for functionality, bottē gallery is aiming to bring forth the artistic aspect of this historic medium. Our collection of contemporary rugs are designed by artists who have studied the history of carpets, and are inspired by the patterns and designs of their predecessors. Yet, they have adapted to the needs of this era to expand their body of art and to translate these forms to a universal language.

Exhibition is free; reception is ticketed.

This project is part of the King East Design District (KEDD). Several receptions, talks, and events will be happening for KEDD Night on Monday, January 20, 6-9pm.
