Love local expertise? Then, join us for bus tours of DesignTO Festival hotspots led by local design and art experts: journalist Alex Bozikovic, innovation designer Heather Daam-Rossi, arts entertainer Kaleb Robertson, and Dean of Design Dori Tunstall.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoons of Festival Week, a Toronto arts and culture personality leads you on one of four guided bus tours to exhibitions at Harbourfront Centre, Artscape Youngplace, and more locations to be announced. Each guide brings their unique insight and expertise to their tour, with special stops selected by the guide.
Schedule:
Sat, Jan 19 – Kaleb Robertson
Sun, Jan 20 – Dori Tunstall
Sat, Jan 26 – Alex Bozikovic
Sun, Jan 27 – Heather Daam-Rossi
Alex Bozikovic is architecture critic for The Globe and Mail and author of Toronto Architecture: A City Guide. He has also written for Azure, Dwell, and Spacing.
Heather Daam-Rossi is a designer, design researcher and facilitator. Her wheelhouse is any collaborative practice – empowering people to bring their own experiences to the table, and using design as a catalyst in order to create relevant and inspired solutions together.
Kaleb Robertson is a cultural producer based in Toronto. As a dynamic, witty host, performer, DJ, and children’s entertainer, he currently hosts Music Bingo and drag queen storytimes throughout the city. He has found a second home in the art hub of the Gladstone Hotel as their resident go-to-guy for hosting and event needs. Look for him, or his alter ego Fluffy Soufflé, for good times.
Dori Tunstall is a design anthropologist, public intellectual, and design advocate who works at the intersections of critical theory, culture, and design. As Dean of Design at OCAD University, she is the first black and black female dean of a faculty of design. She leads the Cultures-Based Innovation Initiative focused on using old ways of knowing to drive innovation processes that directly benefit communities.
