DesignTO projectevent: tour in-person

Join DesignTO for an exclusive tour of MCM’s workshop where they integrate state-of-the-art equipment with skilled craftsmanship to fabricate custom environments such as Bar Raval in Toronto and the Senate of Canada Building in Ottawa. Architects from five leading firms – Diamond Schmitt, KPMB, iN STUDIO, Partisans, and Bartlett & Associates – will speak about the process and collaboration between designer and fabricator to realize one-of-a-kind projects.

The tour will start at The Gladstone Hotel, where attendees will board a bus to MCM’s Fabrication Workshop, located near Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Avenue. At MCM, the group will tour its expansive facilities totalling 235,000 square feet, where five architecture firms will present projects they worked on in collaboration with MCM:

  • Bartlett & Associates on Lenczner Slaght offices, Toronto, 2018
  • Diamond Schmitt on The Senate of Canada Building, Ottawa, 2019
  • iN STUDIO on Spin Master’s office, Toronto, 2018
  • KPMB on the Science Commons at the University of Lethbridge, Lethbridge, Alberta, 2019
  • PARTISANS on Bar Raval, Toronto, 2015

The tour ends with refreshments at MCM, and a return bus trip to the Gladstone Hotel.
