L Space Gallery, Humber Polytechnic Lakeshore Campus 19 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive, Etobicoke

‘Domus Nexus’ is an immersive, interactive installation that explores the intimate relationship between private space and collective identity. Viewers will enter into a gallery space which has been transformed into a physical house; here, they will be invited to interact with, explore and discover the various design elements within the space, reflecting on how individual homes contribute to the fabric of a community.

Through a cultural and personal lens, the installation reconsiders the meaning of “home” as both a deeply personal space and a shared cultural symbol. The work draws attention to the small often overlooked details that form the greater whole – the tiny discoverable parts of identity.

The installation is the result of the 2025 Humber Galleries Fellowship; a multidisciplinary collaboration between six Humber Polytechnic students and two creative producers over the course of 16 weeks, each bringing their own cultural background, traditions and identities to create Domus Nexus.

‘Domus Nexus’ and the 2025 Humber Galleries Fellowship is partially funded by City of Toronto’s Business Incubation & Commercialization Grant Program.
