80 Gladstone Avenue, Unit 1, Toronto
‘Kick, Stand!’ is an exhibition exploring the meeting point between mechanical and organic life through a series of vessels made from reclaimed bicycle parts and additive manufacturing.
Using components sourced from discarded bikes, industrial designer Mal Yu reconfigures industrial fragments into sculptural forms that now hold nature. Each vessel carries visible traces of motion, with scratches, bends, and patina, that speak to their former lives, while offering a new stillness in the act of holding flowers.
By repurposing material waste, the vessels suggest renewal and balance, inviting viewers to consider cycles of use, repair, reinvention, and celebrating the quiet beauty found in rest after motion.
