window installation in-person

‘Lanterns’ is a textile installation by Maria Shanina. It’s a beautiful reminder of the light that guides us through moments of darkness. It inspires us to find our inner strength and illuminate our journey in this world, no matter what challenges we may face.

The installation consists of hand-painted silk objects that capture the light and create shimmering effects. The trembling of threads reflects the motion of life, slowed down by gravity. By capturing stillness and transforming it into a moment of slight motion, the artwork invites us to stop, pay attention, and enjoy the present moment.

The installation reflects the current times we are living in and encourages us to find calmness within the continuous movement of life. It’s a fleeting memory of the past and a promise of a better future, reminding us to engage with the healing moment and embrace the beauty that surrounds us.
