Window installations are viewable 24 hours a day from outdoors.

Inspired by the detailed aerial photos the city has taken since the 1940s and maintained in the Toronto Archives, ‘On This Spot’ focuses on one locale in a typical Toronto suburb and moves backwards into ‘deep time.’ The paper-crafted work shows the ways in which humans have made their presence felt on the land but also how the land has shaped us: so much civic planning is informed by geologic forces that predate human presence. As we try with mixed results to live as stewards of the land, we come to learn that an indelible footprint can be an itinerant one, and what has come before us will endure.
