‘StrataSphere’ is a visual representation of the progression of time and its climatic effects on our environment. This installation seeks to create a multi-dimensional layered landscape through a series of moments suspended in time that are both contemplative and conceptual.
In response to the manifestation of water, both as a physical substance and its thematic relevance within a contemporary culture and climate, ‘StrataSphere’ presents a spatial environment following a cumulative narrative. This layered atmosphere contains an otherwise boundless unit of measurement, challenging the transient quality of time and its impact on our surroundings at a human scale. The viewer relationship however is reciprocal; indirectly addressing the primary role we have played as individuals on the impact of both the static moments and overall composition.
Through the exploration of altered perspective and perception, this installation uses sequential mapping of 2-dimensional imagery to capture the ephemerality of time as a 3-dimensional sculpture, allowing viewer engagement to be equally observational as it is experiential.
