Join DesignTO on Tuesday, May 28 for a private tour of Brett Paulin Design’s Toronto studio.
A designer of furniture and interiors, Brett started his eponymous studio in 2018 after working for years as a bartender while doing design work on the side. During his time in hospitality, Brett became inspired by the freedoms and creativity that restaurant design offered. It seemed like a dream to help create spaces where people come together, sharing their lives and love of food, music, and each other. His first solo design project was for Martello in Hamilton, where Brett was given freedom to indulge his love of art, antiques, and contemporary furniture design. During this time Brett was also developing a line of customizable furniture, which would eventually come to be sold on 1stDibs. From his first project at Martello, Brett has continued to create unique spaces for cafes and restaurants, refining his design aesthetic and process. Brett’s furniture can be found in homes designed by great contemporary interior designers such as Studio Gachot and Damon Liss.
Brett continues to focus on design and creative projects in his studio in Toronto. His industrial space is home to a creative workshop, recording studio, and soon-to-be-revealed curated showroom/atelier.
