‘BoomBoom’ serves as a representation of the vibrant heart of Yonge + St. Clair, a bustling urban destination in midtown Toronto that seamlessly blends various aspects of life, work and play. Created by Gensler and located at the vestibule of 40 St. Clair Avenue West, the installation comprises three heart-shaped hanging structures crafted from vibrant, recycled mesh and adorned with programmed lighting. ‘BoomBoom’ embodies an enthusiastic and inclusive outlook, celebrating the diversity of the community.

During the 2024 DesignTO Festival, visitors are encouraged to interact with the installation, experiencing the unique beats they produce and feeling the vitality of Yonge + St. Clair. The playful graphic decals surrounding the installations are a visual representation of the remanence of the beats, sparking curiosity and exploration in this dynamic urban centre. This installation aims to activate community engagement, providing the neighbourhood a warm winter escape and a platform for voices to be heard!
