What do you see?

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. There are over 140 languages spoken, more than 150 neighbourhoods and a multitude of layers of cultures that weave the city together. As the city has grown, it has welcomed people from all over. Neighbourhoods have evolved merging different cultures together. Each part of the city has a life of it’s own. It breathes by itself, but it can’t survive without the other.

This installation creates a parallel relationship of Toronto as an entity and the many multiple and diverse systems within it. Every individual interprets the city through own lens by the experiences they encounter. Familiar places become manifestations of comfort while other outlets in the city allow people to explore the unfamiliar.
